Man who used AI to make fake nude images of female relatives, alongside secret shower recordings, jailed 27 months, outlet reports

Stomp reported on 4 October 2026, citing Shin Min Daily News, that a man was sentenced to 27 months’ jail after pleading guilty to four of ten charges involving the taking, distribution and possession of intimate images. According to the report, he secretly filmed female family members showering from 2024 and shared images with other men, and investigations also found that he used AI to create fake nude images of female relatives. He shared some of the AI images with a male cousin, who was also involved in creating and distributing them. AI-generated nude images and secret recordings were found on another phone he had borrowed after his release on bail, and a family member made a further police report. One female relative said the incident left her depressed and unable to eat or sleep properly. The court barred the media from publishing information that could identify the victims, including the man’s name.

AI system as recorded: An unnamed AI tool used to create fake nude images of the man’s female relatives, per Stomp citing Shin Min Daily News

What Happened

The AI images. Stomp (4 October 2026), citing Shin Min Daily News, reports that investigations found a man had used AI to create fake nude images of female relatives. He sent some of them to a male cousin, who the report says was also involved in creating and distributing the AI-generated images.

The wider offending. According to the report, from 2024 the man secretly filmed female family members showering and sent screenshots and images to other men. After a family member found nude photos and shower footage on his phone in September 2025 and he was released on bail, about 50 videos and photos were found on another phone he had borrowed, including secret recordings of female relatives showering and AI-generated nude images, and a further police report followed. The secret recordings were not AI-made; they are recorded here as context.

Sentence. He pleaded guilty to four of ten charges involving the taking, distribution and possession of intimate images and was sentenced to 27 months’ jail, with the remaining charges taken into consideration. The report does not say which charges concerned the AI images.

Effects. The report says one family member has been receiving counselling, and that another female relative said the incident left her depressed and unable to eat or sleep properly and that she stopped posting photos of herself or her family online. It does not say whether either was depicted in the AI images.

Limits. One reporting chain (Stomp relaying Shin Min Daily News); no court record was inspected. The court barred publication of information that could identify the victims, including the man’s name; ages and specific relationships given in the report are omitted here.

Reported harm

Female relatives were depicted without consent in AI-made fake nude images that a man created and shared with a cousin, according to Stomp citing Shin Min Daily News; he was jailed for 27 months on intimate-image charges that also covered secret shower recordings.

Outcome

Resolved

The man pleaded guilty to four of ten charges involving the taking, distribution and possession of intimate images, with the rest taken into consideration, and was sentenced to 27 months’ jail (Stomp, 4 October 2026, citing Shin Min Daily News). The report does not say which charges concerned the AI images or whether the cousin was charged.

What remains unknown

  • How many relatives were depicted in the AI images and which of them were harmed; the report uses the plural without a number.
  • When the AI images were made; the report dates the secret filming to 2024 and the discovery of the second phone after the man’s release on bail.
  • Which of the charges concerned the AI-made images, and the court and sentencing date.
  • Any outcome for the cousin who helped create and distribute the AI images.
  • Which AI tool was used.

What the evidence supports

AI involvement: reported. Stomp, citing Shin Min Daily News, reports that investigations found the man used AI to create fake nude images of his female relatives, that he shared some with a male cousin who was also involved in creating and distributing the AI-generated images, and that AI-generated nude images were among the material later found on a phone he had borrowed. The AI tool generated the nude depictions of the relatives, which is the harm counted here. The secret shower recordings in the same case were not AI-made. No tool is named.

Not reliably quantifiable from the sources

The report says the man used AI to create fake nude images of "other female relatives" and of "his relatives" without giving a number, so no reliable count of the depicted relatives exists and the numeric zero is a placeholder. Family members harmed only by the non-AI secret recordings are not counted here.

Counted once within this case. The same person may appear in other cases. This count does not establish AI causation.

Braintree, Essex: a bar worker was jailed for five years for making AI deepfake pornography of 20 women he knew, including a 16-year-old's prom photo, and posting it with their names and phone numbers on a forum glorifying rape

Between March 2023 and May 2024 Brandon Tyler, 26, a bar worker from Braintree, Essex, took images from the social-media pages of 20 women he knew, used AI to remove clothing or otherwise make them sexually explicit, and posted 173 times on an online forum that, in the prosecutor's words, championed 'rape culture and sexual violence to women', adding the women's names, social-media handles and phone numbers and, under one picture, asking 'which one deserves to be gang raped?'. One edit was made from a 16-year-old girl's prom-night photograph. He was caught after including his own Instagram handle in a screenshot. On 4 April 2025 at Chelmsford Crown Court, having admitted 18 counts of causing harassment without violence and 15 counts of sharing an intimate photo or film for sexual gratification, he was sentenced to five years' imprisonment; Judge Alexander Mills called his conduct 'the worst kind of toxic masculinity'. Two victims told the court of the impact: one said she still received anonymous sexual calls and that her long-term relationship had ended; another said she felt 'completely violated'.

Henderson, Kentucky: police identified AI-generated nude images of two middle-school children on a device after a report that such images were being created and shown to other students at South Middle School; a juvenile was lodged at the juvenile detention centre on charges of distributing sexually explicit images without consent and possessing and distributing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor

Henderson Police said that on 'last Thursday' (17 September 2026) they received a report that AI-generated nude images of children were being created and shown to other students at South Middle School in Henderson, Kentucky. During the investigation officers found and identified AI-generated photographs of two minor victims on a digital device. A juvenile accused of sharing the images was lodged at the Juvenile Detention Center on three charge types: distribution of sexually explicit images without consent; two counts of possession or viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 and under 18; and distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor over 12 and under 18. The school said on Monday 21 September that it was aware of a situation involving a student allegedly misusing artificial intelligence and inappropriate images, that the police investigation was active and that it had remained in communication with the families involved. 14 News (WFIE) reported the case on 21 September; WKYT carried the same report. The tool is not named. The depicted children's exact ages are not reported, though the charge descriptors put them between 12 and 18. Jaú, São Paulo: eight 15-year-old ninth-grade boys at a private school are reported to have made fake nude images of a female classmate with artificial intelligence and shared them in a WhatsApp group; the school suspended them and the Civil Police are investigating a 15-year-old for dissemination of child pornography and defamation

In early September 2026 a private school in Jaú, in the interior of São Paulo state, identified the circulation of fake intimate images of a female classmate made with artificial intelligence and contacted the families. According to the police report described by the press, eight ninth-grade boys, all aged 15, kept a WhatsApp group in which they used digital programs to manipulate images of the student so that she appeared unclothed. The school suspended the eight and informed the girl's parents. The father of one of the boys checked his son's phone, found the files and took the boy and the phone to the police to register a report; the girl's parents also registered a police report. The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat said the Civil Police are investigating a 15-year-old for dissemination of child pornography and defamation that occurred on the morning of Thursday 3 September. The school said the content originated on a private platform outside the school environment and that it had adopted protective and welcoming measures for the student and opened an internal inquiry. The AI tool used is not named. The students are minors and are not named in any report.
