Begusarai, Bihar: a 22-year-old woman says a man who had pursued her made a fake nude video of her with AI months earlier to blackmail her, then on 27 September 2026 he and a relative took her to a hotel room where she was beaten and raped and the videos were circulated; FIR registered, SIT formed, both accused arrested

The earlier AI video. In the account she gave Dainik Bhaskar (30 September 2026), the woman says the man knew her through her maternal relatives' village and his sister's marriage into her neighbourhood, wanted to meet her alone, and was refused. Four or five months earlier, she says, he made a nude video of her with AI and sent it to her to blackmail her; she did not give in. Her lawyer, who wrote her complaint, told NewsTak that he sent a fake AI-generated obscene video and pressured her to talk to him, and kept blackmailing her with it. The newstrack report of her complaint says the accused threatened to make the video public and demanded money.

27 September. She says she left home at about 7:30 am to collect self-help-group dues; the second accused, her neighbour and the first man's brother-in-law, gave her a lift on his motorcycle and took her to where the first man was waiting. Both men, she says, took her into a room at a hotel by the highway on the pretext of talking about the video. The second man left; the first locked the door, threatened her with a knife, beat her and raped her while filming, and put a noose around her neck. She locked herself in the bathroom, and after he left she went home and told her family. She says he took her phone and shared the AI-made video and the assault video to WhatsApp groups; her lawyer says the video was posted to her self-help group's group and that her phone was broken because it held the AI video. Police told Prabhat Khabar that hotel CCTV shows the first man entering the room alone at 7:01 am, the woman entering the hotel at 7:33 am, and both leaving the room at 12:33 pm.

Reporting and police response. Her lawyer told NewsTak that she spent 28 September going from police station to police station, and that the FIR was registered late that night at Nagar police station on the SP's order. Prabhat Khabar reports the complaint alleged rape at knifepoint, the making and circulation of an obscene video on social media and WhatsApp groups, and an attempt to kill her; police began inquiries after the beating video went viral. A special investigation team was formed, one accused was reported arrested by the evening of 29 September (Prabhat Khabar; NewsTak), and the second, per Dainik Bhaskar on 30 September, was arrested while fleeing towards Nepal. The video of the beating, showing a man pulling her hair and hitting her with slippers, circulated on social media; newstrack notes it had not independently verified it.

Limits. The AI-generated video is described only by the complainant and her lawyer; no police statement read here characterises it, and the video was not inspected. The accused have not responded in the read reporting.

FIR registered at Begusarai Nagar police station late on 28 September 2026 (case 451/26) on the woman's written complaint; the SP formed a special investigation team under the Sadar SDPO; hotel CCTV footage and the entry register were seized (Prabhat Khabar; Dainik Bhaskar) and an FSL team examined the room (Prabhat Khabar; NewsTak). One accused was reported arrested by the evening of 29 September (Prabhat Khabar; NewsTak). Dainik Bhaskar reported on 30 September that the main accused had been arrested while fleeing towards Nepal and that the WhatsApp number used to circulate the video had been blocked. The SP said the woman's medical examination and court statement were being arranged and that a speedy trial would be sought.
