According to the father's complaint as reported by four Hindi outlets, the accused young man lives in Bansdih town and had studied at the same school as the 17-year-old student; he was expelled because of his conduct and since then bore enmity towards the family (Amar Ujala, Dainik Bhaskar, Hindustan). The complaint says he took a screenshot of the girl's social-media account, made a fake Instagram ID matching her name and photograph, used AI technology to prepare an obscene video from her photograph and, through the fake account, sent it to students of her school, her friends and relatives (Dainik Bhaskar, Jagran, Hindustan; Amar Ujala says it was made viral).
