Singer Yıldız Tilbe objects publicly in May, June and October 2026 to AI-made videos and photos that use the singer's image without permission, including material that, in Tilbe's words, makes the singer talk with people the singer does not know

Turkish outlets reported on 3 October 2026 that the singer Yıldız Tilbe wrote on social media: "I am very tired of people adding my images to videos and photos using artificial intelligence. I am fed up with your AI. Stop sending me videos like this." T24 says the videos and photos were prepared without the singer's permission and were sent to Tilbe frequently during the day. In May 2026 Tilbe had said, in remarks reported by T24 and Posta, that AI was frightening and that some websites showed Tilbe talking with people the singer did not know at all. Yeni Asır reported in June 2026 that Tilbe told reporters the AI videos using the singer's face bothered the singer. No legal step or platform action is reported and no maker is named; Sözcü says followers prepared the material.

AI system as recorded: Videos and photos into which other people insert the singer's image using AI, and material on some websites that, in Tilbe's words, makes the singer talk with people the singer does not know at all; the tools are not identified and no maker is named

What Happened

T24 (10 May 2026) quoted Tilbe: "I find artificial intelligence frightening. On some sites on the internet I see that they have made me talk with people I do not know at all. It can be useful in art, but if it is used badly it can be very dangerous." Posta (10 May 2026), citing the newspaper Günaydın, reported that Tilbe said fake videos of the singer had recently been made on digital platforms using AI and complained about it. Yeni Asır (24 June 2026) reported that Tilbe told magazine reporters that the AI videos using the singer's face bothered the singer.

On 3 October 2026 T24 and Sözcü reported a social media post in which Tilbe said the singer was very tired of people adding the singer's images to videos and photos using AI and asked followers to stop sending such videos. Sözcü says edited videos and photos that do not reflect reality, prepared by the singer's followers, were often sent to the singer's message inbox. The reports describe no particular video, and none says that a video was used for fraud or advertising.

Reported harm

Tilbe says the singer is very weary of people adding the singer's images to videos and photos using AI, is fed up and wants no more such videos sent (post quoted by T24 and Sözcü), finds AI frightening (interview relayed by T24 and Posta) and is bothered by AI videos that use the singer's face (Yeni Asır).

Outcome

Unknown

Tilbe objected publicly in an interview reported on 10 May 2026, in remarks to reporters reported on 24 June 2026 and in a social media post reported on 3 October 2026. No complaint, lawsuit or platform action is reported.

What remains unknown

  • Who makes the videos and photos, beyond Sözcü's description of them as prepared by the singer's followers, and with which tools.
  • What particular videos show, beyond Tilbe's description of being made to talk with people the singer does not know.
  • On which platforms and sites the material appears.
  • When the first such video appeared.
  • Whether Tilbe has taken or plans any legal step.

What the evidence supports

AI involvement: reported. Tilbe says people add the singer's images to videos and photos using AI (T24; Sözcü) and that sites show Tilbe talking with strangers (T24, May 2026). The AI attribution is the singer's own; no video was inspected and no tool is named. The material depicts Tilbe (depicted_or_impersonated).

London: the broadcaster Narinder Kaur says that since sexually explicit images made from her Instagram photographs with a nudification app appeared on X in November 2025 she has been tagged in at least 20 more deepfaked pictures and videos, and that she fell into a depression; no perpetrator has been identified (Daily Mail, 30 September 2026)

Narinder Kaur, a 54-year-old broadcaster and regular TV commentator, told the Daily Mail (30 September 2026) that one morning in November 2025 she opened X and found sexually explicit images of herself, made by taking photographs she had shared on Instagram and removing her clothing with a so-called nudification app. Since then she has been tagged in at least 20 more deepfaked pictures and videos, some linking her to Jeffrey Epstein. She says she fell into a depression in the early weeks and her GP suggested antidepressants, that commenters treated the images as real, and that she fears her teenage children will see them. She has reported each image and had numerous police visits, but no perpetrator has been identified because the accounts are anonymous and deleted when reported. She has joined the Stop AI Abuse campaign.

Thanh Hóa, Vietnam: provincial police received reports from nearly 20 people threatened with fabricated sexual images of themselves unless they paid, one asked for 1.5 billion dong

Thanh Hóa provincial police said on 3 October 2026 that their cybersecurity and high-tech crime division had, since the start of October, received reports from nearly 20 people threatened with extortion using sexual images and videos spliced from their own photos, which senders threatened to publish unless money was transferred. One victim was asked for as much as 1.5 billion dong, and officials, including commune-level leaders, were among the targets. The police release says the material was made with technology; Báo Thanh Hóa, reporting information compiled from the same police division, says the senders used AI and deepfake technology to put victims' faces onto sexual images. No payment, arrest or named victim is reported.

New York: the Manhattan District Attorney seized 12 websites selling AI-generated sexual deepfakes of about 1,200 real people

On 14 September 2026 Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced the seizure of 12 domain names used to disseminate, publish and sell non-consensual AI-generated sexual 'deepfake' videos. His office said individuals under investigation had used AI image- and video-creation tools to turn photos and videos of approximately 1,200 real people, overwhelmingly women, into hyper-realistic sexual imagery without consent. The victims included actors, politicians, athletes, musicians, activists and social-media influencers. WIRED and outside researchers reported that many videos reposted content from the defunct MrDeepFakes platform and that dozens of politicians appeared on the sites; investigations into who ran them are ongoing.

Etawah, Uttar Pradesh: a beautician and event organiser died by suicide on the night of 20-21 July 2026 after recording a video naming four acquaintances she said had ruined her home; her husband says they had been blackmailing her with AI-made videos and photographs (India Today: 'AI-generated videos and morphed photographs'); police registered an abetment case and arrested the main accused (July 2026)

A beautician, make-up artist and event organiser in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh (aged 20 or 26 depending on the report), recorded a video on her phone and sent it to her husband before hanging herself at their rented home in Vrindavan Colony, Civil Lines, on the night of 20 July 2026 (ANI's circle officer; the Times of India says 21 July). In the video she named two women and two men, former work acquaintances, as 'the reason I am hanging myself', said they had ruined her home and should be jailed for life, said they had threatened to reveal details of her pre-marriage life to her husband and in-laws, and cleared her husband. Her husband, a block-office clerk, told India Today (whose Etawah reporter also wrote the AajTak report) and, separately, India TV that after she returned from a Jaipur assignment the four had been harassing and blackmailing her with AI-made videos and photographs. Civil Lines police seized her phone, held the inquest and post-mortem and said they were verifying the videos; the Times of India reported on 27 July that a case of abetment to suicide had been registered on the husband's complaint and that the alleged main accused, a 30-year-old man, had been arrested on Saturday 25 July and sent to jail while the other three, including the two women, were absconding. The AI attribution rests on the husband's account as reported; her video, as quoted, names four people and describes threats to expose her pre-marriage life; the police statements read do not describe an examination of the material.
